DMCA notice for UIF Portal — copyright and takedown information.
Copyright on this site
The text, design and original illustrations on UIF Portal are the copyright of UIF Portal unless stated otherwise. Official names, such as the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the Department of Employment and Labour, UIF Online, uFiling and SARS, are used only to describe the subject of the guides; they are the property of their respective owners, and their logos are not reproduced on this site. Short quotations of official guidance, and screenshots of public official web pages used to show readers what a portal looks like, are used for information and identification only, and remain the property of their owners.
If you believe your work has been used without permission
If you are a copyright owner (or act for one) and you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, you may send a takedown notice. To be acted on quickly, the notice should include:
- Your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, with enough detail for us to find it.
- The exact address (URL) of the page on this site where the material appears.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send the notice through the Contact Us form on this site, with the subject "DMCA notice". Because the contact form is not yet connected to an email address, notices sent through it are shown as received on screen for now; if you need a faster route, use the official contact routes listed on the Contact Us page and ask for the notice to be passed on. A notice that does not identify the work and the page clearly cannot be acted on, so please be as specific as you can.
What happens next
On receiving a complete notice, we will review the material, remove or disable access to it where the complaint is valid, and keep a record of the action taken. Where material is removed because of a complaint, the person who provided it will be told why. Repeated, valid complaints about the same source will lead to that source's material being removed permanently, and the source will not be used again.
Counter-notices
If you believe material was removed by mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice with the same contact details, identification of the material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. We will review counter-notices in the same way and restore material where the counter-notice is valid.
Repeat infringers
UIF Portal does not accept user uploads, so there is no user account to terminate for repeat infringement. Any contributor whose supplied material draws repeated valid complaints will not be used again.
